Causes Of Back Pian

Back pain can usually be attributed to physical activity or some kind of trauma. There are instances that back pain can occur from other causes. Identifying these causes can be difficult

Sometimes it’s not just one thing that might be the cause. Often there are many microtraumas that can lead to an acute event.

There are instances where pain may be referred from some other location. These are more difficult to identify as being caused by the back. Certain types of leg pain can be traced back to a lower back issue. Torn discs or joint issues can often result in this type of pain.

Organ systems that are not functioning properly can also be a cause of back pain. The gall bladder is a good example of this. Kidney issues can also result in low back pain.

Organ pathological causes are very rare. Most patients present to a chiropractor with musculoskeletal causes of back pain. The Doctor of Chiropractic is trained to discern these different causations. Physical exams as well as diagnostic testing will be performed to rule out these visceral causations.

Diseases such as cancer can also result in back pain. It is important to give the doctor a detailed history to rule out these causes.
